Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon vs Dell XPS 13?

My main concerns are battery life for long flights and the keyboard quality for coding. I'm also curious about the difference in screen brightness for outdoor use. I'm not a gamer, so graphics aren't a priority, but I do want something that feels snappy and responsive.

The X1 Carbon typically wins on keyboard and durability, while the XPS 13 often has a better screen and slightly smaller footprint. For statistical software, both are adequate. Consider the specific processor and RAM configurations when comparing performance. Battery life is usually comparable, but real-world usage varies. If keyboard comfort is paramount for long coding sessions, the X1 Carbon is likely the better choice.
AvatarWanderingDev: For coding, the X1 Carbon's keyboard is a game changer; my hands cramp up less after long sessions. But if you watch a lot of movies, that XPS 13 screen really pops.

ThinkPads are generally built tougher, with more robust hinges and chassis materials. While the XPS 13 looks nicer initially, the X1 Carbon will likely fare better with daily abuse over several years. Consider keyboard feel a priority, since that impacts your productivity directly. If you can try both in a store, that would be ideal.

X1 Carbon generally wins on keyboard feel and durability. XPS 13 often has a brighter screen and smaller overall footprint, but keyboard is shallower. Battery life is very close depending on the specific configuration.
