HP Pavilion vs Lenovo IdeaPad, which is better?

My main concern is bang for buck for everyday use. I'm a student, so mostly note-taking, research, and streaming videos. Battery life is pretty important, and I don't do any gaming or video editing. Is the HP's slightly better processor worth the generally shorter battery life compared to the Lenovo?

IdeaPads generally offer better battery life and thermals for the price. Pavilion screens can be hit or miss depending on the specific model; some are dim and color accuracy is poor. If screen quality matters, check the nits and color gamut (sRGB percentage) of the specific model you're considering before buying.
Avatarhonestopinion: IdeaPads are usually a safer bet if you value battery and a cooler running laptop. The Pavilion's screen is the gamble; do the research beforehand.

IdeaPads generally offer better battery life and are often lighter than Pavilions at a similar price point. However, Pavilion's build quality is typically a bit more premium. Check specific models and compare their weight, storage, and battery specs directly to see which fits your needs. Look for models with an all-metal chassis if build quality is a top priority.

The IdeaPad typically offers better battery life and is often more budget-friendly. Since you're not gaming, the Pavilion's marginal CPU boost likely won't be noticeable in your daily tasks. Prioritize battery and cost savings with the IdeaPad.
