Best laptop you can afford on $70k salary?
I need a laptop for work, but I also want something that can handle some gaming and video editing on the side. My job is fully remote, so battery life is important since I move around the house a lot. Portability is a plus, though performance is more important. I'm not sure if I should be looking at a MacBook Pro or a high-end Windows machine. Is there a sweet spot for around $2000?

Focus on laptops with dedicated graphics cards if you plan on gaming or video editing. Something with an RTX 3060 or better would be ideal. The MacBook Pro is great for video editing but falls behind on gaming. For $2000, look at the ASUS ROG Zephyrus line or the Razer Blade 14. Both offer excellent performance and decent battery life.

A $1200-$1800 laptop is justifiable given your income. The MacBook Air M2 is a solid choice for its battery life and performance. Dell XPS 13 is another strong contender, known for its excellent display. Check for refurbished models to save some money without compromising on quality.
