Apple Watch Series 9 vs Samsung Galaxy Watch 6?

I'm debating these two smartwatches, but my main concern is battery life. I need something that can last at least a full day with workout tracking (GPS running) and sleep monitoring enabled. I'm also curious about the accuracy of the health sensors – heart rate, SpO2, ECG. I use an Android phone, but I'm not totally opposed to switching to iPhone if the Apple Watch is significantly better in these areas.

If you're serious about fitness accuracy, the Apple Watch generally wins, especially with its ECG and blood oxygen sensors. The Galaxy Watch is good, but its heart rate tracking can be inconsistent during intense workouts. Since you're on Android, the Galaxy Watch will integrate more seamlessly, but consider whether Apple's health ecosystem is worth switching phones.

If you're already deep in the Apple ecosystem and use Apple Pay frequently, the Galaxy Watch 6 might introduce friction. While its battery life is generally better, the integration with iOS is not as seamless as with Android. For fitness, both are good, but compare the specific metrics and apps you use. If Apple Health and the Apple Watch's workout tracking meet your needs, the improved battery on the Galaxy Watch might not outweigh the convenience you'd lose.

If battery life is your top priority and you're already on Android, the Galaxy Watch 6 is probably the better choice. The Apple Watch Series 9 has improved, but it's still generally considered a daily charger, especially with heavy GPS use. The Galaxy Watch usually gets a day and a half, sometimes two depending on your usage. As for accuracy, both are pretty good, but you'll find lots of debates online about minor differences. Since you are on Android, the Galaxy Watch will integrate seamlessly with your phone and apps.
